Craig Hagen, Sr. Minister

Craig Hagen is a native of Martin County and grew up in the small town of Jamesville, North Carolina. His home church is the Poplar Chapel congregation where he grew up under the preaching of Ward Woolard and Ernie Williams and many great teachers. As his love for the church and the Lord grew, Craig attended Mid-Atlantic Christian University where he received a Bachelors of Science in Bible and Christian education.

He has served as a Youth Minister for the Scuppernong Church of Christ in Creswell, North Carolina and as an Associate Minister in charge of youth at County Line Christian Church in Axton, Virginia. Craig has served as the Preaching Minister for the St. Clair’s Church of Christ since January 1, 1998. He is married to his wife Barbie and they have two sons: Blake and Brody.

To the Elders and the Flock
5 To the elders among you, I appeal as a fellow elder and a witness of Christ’s sufferings who also will share in the glory to be revealed: 2 Be shepherds of God’s flock that is under your care, watching over them—not because you must, but because you are willing, as God wants you to be; not pursuing dishonest gain, but eager to serve; 3 not lording it over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock. 4 And when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the crown of glory that will never fade away.

1 Timothy 3: 8
In the same way, deacons[b] are to be worthy of respect, sincere, not indulging in much wine, and not pursuing dishonest gain. 9 They must keep hold of the deep truths of the faith with a clear conscience. 10 They must first be tested; and then if there is nothing against them, let them serve as deacons.
